5 miles easy: 2 miles to/from gym + 3 miles on treadmill at 6.5 mph and 1% incline
I consider myself lucky to have a job which allows me to work from home 1-2 days a week. Today I decided to lug my laptop to the new coffee shop down the street and work from there. This place is the bomb dot com. I can't express how much I enjoyed my lunch, a balsamic marinated, grilled veggie sandwich with goat cheese on multi-grain bread.
I see more of these in my future.
After a productive work day fueled by coffee, sencha green tea, and veggie goodness, I headed home in the rain to to get changed for my run. After working all day and missing out on a bunch of sleep this week, the last thing I wanted to do was head out in the rain for a run. I made a deal with myself that I would run the mile each to and from the gym, and would suffer the other 3 miles on the treadmill. 3 miles is usually my max on treadmills because I get bored easily, even with a TV in my face.

I was tempted to run all 5 miles outside, because I don't usually mind running in the rain. In the summer, I even enjoy it. Tonight, however, was a cold, heavy, winter rain. Not cute.

I came home soaked, but happy. While waiting for dinner to finish up, Josh and I split a Chimay Cinq Cents, also known as Chimay White. I've had it several times before, and it's easily one of my favorite beers. It's hoppy, smooth, and 8% alcohol by volume.

Josh made an amazingly tender and delicious brisket for dinner, using his mom's go-to recipe. We had some garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed spinach to go with it.

And now we're ending the evening with some red wine and "Project X," a ridiculous movie about an out of control high school party. It kinda just makes me feel old. Good thing I have this little guy to keep me young....
