Off to Ragnar Cape Cod!

Greetings from Terminal E! I'm about to board a flight from Philly to Boston to take part in Ragnar Relay Cape Cod, a 200 mile relay race from Hull to Provincetown.

I've wanted to run a relay race for a long time. I almost ran the Bourbon Chase last year but it did not come to fruition. Thus, when the opportunity came up late 2013 to run Ragnar Cape Cod with some Oiselle teammates, I immediately jumped at the chance to run my first relay!

Here's how it works:

  • ~200 miles
  • 2 Vans
  • 12 runners
  • 3 legs per runner

I'm runner 8, which mean's my legs will look like this:

Leg 8: VERY HARD - 8.1 miles

Leg 20: HARD - 5.6 miles

Leg 32: EASY - 2.3 Miles

I chose to be runner 8 because I like the idea of running my legs hardest to easiest. Additionally, I wanted to run a bunch of miles, but not the MOST miles, since I just ran a fast 10 miler on Sunday. Finally, the last 2.3 mile run will be very close to the beach and I imagine there will be some pretty sweet views.

Our team name is "Flock You Like a Hurricane" (aka #flockyoulikeahurricane for those who hashtag) to show our Oiselle pride.  We made some pretty sweet hats to show off our bird love:

In addition to Oiselle, we have some other amazing sponsors who've provided us with some sweet swag to make our Ragnar experience more enjoyable:

PROcompression - I've been wearing these socks for recovery for a couple years, and more recently I've been wearing them on runs to prevent achilles pain. Get 40% off with code: FLOCK

EnergyBits - Haven't tried these yet but I'm interested. All Vegan plant-based energy source.

PocketFuel - Another fuel product I haven't tried, but am eager to try. This stuff is pretty popular with ultrarunners these days.

ShowerPill - These body wipes are going to be clutch after running in the middle of the night with no shower access. Can't wait to try these out.

Mission Athletecare - Provided us with a bunch of awesome products including towels anti-chafe products, and cooling packs.

Finally, these are the lovely ladies I'll be spending the Ragnar weekend with:

And our fearless captain and VAN 2 driver, STACEY !

I cannot wait to spend 24+ hours with these ladies running on the Cape!

I won't bring my laptop this weekend, but I WILL be online! Follow me on social media for updates on team #flockyoulikeahurricane:

  1. There are a few basic tips to keep in mind, when buying karaoke machines.
Other great karaoke singing tips include how to sing with cold, staying hydrated, herbal
helpers, and of course alcohol. This cute pink and white Hello
Kitty inspired karaoke system is suitable for little girls aged five and up.

  3. obviously like your website but you have to test the spelling
on quite a few of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling
issues and I find it very troublesome to tell the reality
however I will certainly come again again.
